Pace Prints at Art Basel Hong Kong
March 23, 2016 - March 26, 2016
Pace Prints is pleased to present a selection of new editions and monoprints at Art Basel Hong Kong 2016, Booth 1B32.
Shahzia Sikander’s first print edition with Pace Prints, Portrait of the Artist, will debut at the fair. The suite of four etchings comes with a letter-pressed colophon written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and novelist Ayad Akhtar. It will be featured in the artist’s concurrent solo exhibition Apparatus of Power at the Asia Society Hong Kong.
KAWS’s set of ten screenprints, Man’s Best Friend, depicts alternating black and white interpretations of Snoopy the dog in the artist’s signature style, and will be released concurrently at the fair and at Pace Prints Chelsea, 521 W. 26th Street in New York City.
Yoshitomo Nara’s Words Mean Nothing at All is a Ukiyo-e woodcut in an edition of 25, mounted on archival cardboard. It depicts a girl, irresolute and perched on a tree, with orange birds and a green snow-capped mountain in the distance.
James Turrell’s set of two vibrant variations on Suite from Aten Reign will be exhibited for the first time. The Ukiyo-e woodcuts use pure pigment to capture the sublimity of light found in the artist’s environmental installations.
Unique and editioned works by Shepard Fairey, and new works on paper by emerging artist Reginald Sylvester II will also be highlighted.
In addition, the booth will include works by Chuck Close, Leonardo Drew, Jean Dubuffet, Keith Haring, Daniel Heidkamp, How and Nosm, Sol LeWitt, Robert Mangold, Yue Minjun, Reza Farkondeh, Kenny Scharf, Li Songsong, Lee Ufan and Zhang Xiaogang.
