Will Barnet

Born 1911, Beverly, MA. Died 2012, New York.

Will Barnet was an artist for over 90 years. Starting at a very early age in his hometown of Beverly, Massachussetts, he would immerse himself in the arts section of the local library. As a teacher and an artist, Barnet discovered and explored many different types of artistic movements, from European Traditional Painting to Abstraction and Cubism.

While studying at the Art Student’s League in New York, he also developed an interest in lithography, etching and woodcutting. He was an avid printmaker during the Great Depression and was a member of the Graphic Art Division of the Works Progress Administration Federal Project.
