Howard Hodgkin
Born in 1932, Sir Howard Hodgkin is a preeminent contemporary British artist. He won the Turner Prize in 1985 and was knighted in 1992. In addition to those national honors, his paintings and prints have received worldwide acclaim. They are created from a mixture of memory and reality, with strong abstracted patterns in brilliant colors. He has had numerous museum exhibitions throughout the world, most recently in New York at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
