Qi Zhilong

Born 1962, Inner Mongolia, China. Lives and works in Beijing.

Like the work of many contemporary Chinese artists, Qi Zhilong's paintings reflect emotions from the period of the Cultural Revolution. He paints primarily large portraits of Chinese women, dressed in green soldier's uniforms. His style is simple and realistic, creating complexity through the juxtaposition of the bright colors in the women's faces with the dark, impersonal uniforms.
