Born 1961 Xinjiang, China. Lives and works in Beijing, China and Boston, MA. Qin Feng's expressive compositions serve as meditations on time and motion. His bold brushstrokes lyrically combine the gestural impulses of action painting with the tradition of Chinese calligraphy painting and the artist often playfully pairs the traditional medium of ink with alternative materials such as coffee, tea and oil paint. Qin's interest in balancing the dynamic between positive and negative space within his compositions mirrors his interest in exploring the delicate harmony between humans and nature.
