National Medal of Arts awarded to James Turrell

James Turrell was among the 12 recipients of the 2013 National Medal of Arts, which was presented by President Obama in a ceremony at the White House on Monday, July 28.

The National Medal of Arts is the highest award given to artists and arts patrons by the federal government. It is awarded by the President of the United States to individuals or groups who are deserving of special recognition by reason of their outstanding contributions to the excellence, growth, support, and availability of the arts in the United States.

James Turrell's first print editions with Pace Editions, only the second suite of color prints in his 50-year career, have just been released and his first exhibition at Pace Prints will take place at our 32 East 57th Street gallery, September 11-October 18, 2014.
