Pace Prints presents The Dog Show featuring work by Pierre Bonnard, Jim Dine, Red Grooms, Keith Haring, David Hockney, Alex Katz, Yoshitomo Nara and William Wegman from February 7 to March 2. This group of artists have honored man’s best friend with these loving portraits. In partnership with Pace Primitive, we will also present a Yoruba dog figure for a Shango altar.
We are excited to present David Hockney’s Dog Wall (1998) in its entirety for the first time since it was exhibited at Pace Prints in 1999. Dog Wall is a set of 15 etchings featuring his dogs Stanley and Boogie.
Also on view will be Doggy Radio (2011) a fusion of functional sculpture and sound technology, created by Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara out of his love for dogs and for music. With an interface designed by How2work & Sayers Studios and sound positioning technology by Yamaha, Doggy Radio is a fully functional FM Radio and stereo system, accepting Bluetooth wireless, USB, and auxiliary sound input.
The show also coincides with the 137th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, February 11-12, 2013.
