Roy Lichtenstein was born in New York City, 1923. During high school he studied at the Art Student League of New York as well as taking watercolor classes from Parsons School of Design, before going on to receive both his B.F.A and M.F.A from Ohio State University. Lichtenstein was less interested in the emotional expression of life in his work, and more so in using stencils and more impersonal means to present his ideas. Through this comic book inspired style, he became known as a primary figure of the Pop-Art movement.
