Now on view at Pace Gallery is Picasso & Jacqueline, featuring artworks from the last two decades of the artist’s life during the time he was married to Jacqueline Roque. The exhibition chronicles Picasso’s Expressionist explorations during a time in which he was inspired by classical and modern painters.
The show is a culmination of a five-year collaboration with Jacqueline’s daughter, Catherine Hutin, who now lives in Paris. As the Wall Street Journal states, “Their relationship endured for more than 20 years, until Picasso's death at 91, making Jacqueline, who took his name when they married, his longest-lasting consort and most persistent muse.”
The two-part exhibition will be on view through January 10, 2015, with paintings, prints and drawings at 32 East 57th Street.
