Yoshitomo Nara was granted the Asia Society Hong Kong's Asia Arts Award 2016 along with fellow artists Cai Guo-Qiang and Nalini Malani. The awards are given out to honor the "Asia Arts Game Changers" during the week of Art Basel Hong Kong.
Past honorees include Pace Prints collaborators Shahzia Sikander, Lee Ufan, Zhang Xiaogang as well as Bharti Kher, Liu Guosong, Nyoman Masriadi, Takashi Murakami, Do Ho Suh, Wucius Wong, Xu Bing and Zeng Fanzhi.
All proceeds from the event support Asia Society initiatives worldwide. The Asia Arts Awards is co-organized by Asia Society Museum, New York, and Asia Society Hong Kong Center.
