On Tuesday, May 19, The Drawing Center honored artist Will Cotton, as well as fashion designer Prabal Gurung and Frances Beatty Adler, the former board co-chair of the museum. The tables were equipped with drawing materials and, according to the Wall Street Journal, "Over the course of five minutes, Mr. Cotton and curator Stacy Engman took to the drawing board and produced a fully realized work of art." Cotton was quotes saying, “[Executive Director Brett Littman] called me up and said, ‘We want to honor you.’ I thought, ‘Great. I wouldn’t mind being honored.’”
