Pace Prints invited Brad Gooch, author of the recent biography Radiant: The Life and Line of Keith Haring, to discuss Haring's life and work on the occasion of the exhibition Keith Haring: Black, White, and Red All Over. Hosted by NYC based critic and curator Carlo McCormick, the event took place and was recorded on Friday, December 13 at 536 West 22nd Street.
The discussion focused on themes within Haring's life and work including mass media, The Pop Shop, multiples, activism, mortality, as well as an emphasis on the artist's later works.
Brad Gooch is a poet, novelist, and biographer, whose previous ten books include Flannery: A Life of Flannery O’Connor, which was a National Book Critics Circle Award finalist, a New York Times Notable Book of the Year, and a New York Times bestseller; City Poet: The Life and Times of Frank O’Hara; Godtalk: Travels in Spiritual America; and the memoir Smash Cut. He is the recipient of National Endowment for the Humanities and Guggenheim fellowships, and lives in New York City. Radiant: The Life and Line of Keith Haring is a National Bestseller and was chosen as one of the Notable Books of 2024 by The Washington Post Book World.
